N. Ineta Ruth

N. Ineta Ruth is a Landon star waterlily with yellow star petals, deep yellow stamen and green pads. It was the product of seven years work to try and achieve a yellow star waterlily. It is still the only one produced to date. It's date of origin is 1990. It's parentage is N. flavovirens x N. St.Louis Gold. This lily was named for and in honor of his mother.

In Perry Slocum's book, Water Gardening Water Lilies and Lotuses, he describes it on page 195 as follows... "Kenneth Landon selected 'Ineta Ruth' as the very best of 85 seedlings. Blooms open early and stay open until late afternoon - an average of 14 hours per day. This is the first true yellow star lily. Flowers are produced in profusion. I highly recommend it for the medium and large pool."
